A software modification is in fact it same as chiptuning. With chiptuning the chip containing the software was removed and a modified one soldered into the ecu. (Electronic Control Unit) With OBD-tuning the chip no longer needs to be removed and soldered into the ecu, but rewritten electronically via of the OBD port. The big advantage of this is that there is no soldering required and everything is done much more quickly. All injection engines have an ecu which regulates among other things the fuel injection, air/fuel proportions and the ignition timing of the engine.
The tuning process takes place in 4 phases: Identification of the ecu, reading the original ecu file, making the tuning file and then writing the tuned file back to the ecu.
The modifications to the software is made by ourselves, and individually developed.
This is the most reliable method.
